We're helping future social workers break barriers and get accepted to their dream MSW programs.

The personal statement is a crucial tool for admissions committees to assess an applicants readiness for graduate school. Yet, many students struggle to write a personal statement that reflects their skills, strengths, and potential. MSW Helper is here to change that.

Through our resources, partnerships, and services, we educate and support MSW applicants in submitting their applications with confidence knowing that they put forth the best application possible.

By supporting applicants through the writing process we increase diversity and equity in the social work field, creating a field that better reflects the people we support as social workers.

How MSW Helper got started.

Hi, I’m Michelle Bruxer - a Registered Social Worker and the Founder of MSW Helper.

Applying to grad school is an exciting - and stressful - milestone for students. Even though I have always been a strong writer I had no idea if the personal statements I was crafting was what admissions committees were looking for.

So, after I got accepted to graduate school I started helping MSW applicants with their personal statements. This started as a hobby based out of my local library as a budding social worker. At the time I would have never imagined the demand and unmet need for grad school application services that specialized in social work applications.

5 years later the MSW Helper team has edited hundreds of personal statements and supported thousands of future social workers with our free resources.

The MSW Helper team offers a wide variety of resources aimed at helping MSW applicants feel confident about their applications. From the blog, resource library, university partnerships, webinars, to our personal statement editing and support services, MSW Helper is the go-to resource for Master of Social Work applicants.
